Kick-ass quote
Be silly. Be honest. Be kind.—Ralph Waldo Emerson
Silliness makes your soul smile.—Doe Zantamata
Something I’m thinking about
Remember when you were a kid?
All you were doing was goofing around, learning things, and exploring stuff. You were constantly dreaming about fantastic worlds. You were chasing things, laughing with your friends, and crying when you scraped your knee. Everything was interesting and exciting and fun.
Remember that? Great.
Now, remember when you were an adult?
Oh, wait, that’s now…
Sooo… you do remember?
You remember the endless meetings? You remember paying taxes, worrying, buying groceries, vacuuming, paying bills, worrying, having to get a job, being disappointed by life, saving for retirement, and worrying?
Yes? Well, that’s not great.
Because that might mean you can identify with the following too:
Feeling like you can’t throw snowballs at your friends anymore because that would be “childish.”
Can’t play Mario Kart anymore because that would be “immature.”
“No, no, sleeping in is something I have to earn.”
What if I told you that things don’t have to be that way?
We might not be able to go back all the way. But life certainly doesn’t have to be this tedious.
Okay, great!
So, what do we do?
Well, unfortunately, I can’t tell you the “one secret trick” because I haven’t found it (yet). Instead, I’ll give you a list. This list will neither be perfect nor complete. But I do hope it accomplishes one thing: enabling you to reconnect just a little bit with that inner child of yours.
And maybe if you do that enough times, you’ll get some of both worlds. The wisdom of being old and the silliness and fun of being young 🙂 Enjoy!
Do a somersault.
Thumb wrestle someone (but don’t get fanatic; don’t break any fingers).
Pet a dog.

Bow when saying goodbye to someone.
Drink from the little cup of your water bottle.
Tell someone that the opposite of a waterfall is a firefly.
Give someone you care about a hug.

Challenge
Can you do all of them?
PS—That’s exactly what I’m telling you
